Respite Care

Our Respite Care

Sometimes people need looking after for a temporary period, either due to an operation, or when their carers or relatives go away.

Many families enjoy looking after their loved ones so that they can remain at home, however this can be at times overwhelming without some extra support. This is where respite can help and provide a much-needed temporary break from the challenges faced by the family care giver.

We cannot overlook the importance of respite; it is incredibly important for families who themselves can suffer from health and social risks related to stress as a result of continuous care.

If you are planning a holiday but you are worried about leaving your elderly relative behind, this is the best option of care to choose. Respite offers a safe option so that you can enjoy a well-deserved break, whilst having your mind at peace that your loved one is well looked after.

Such help includes, but is not limited to:

Assistance with waking and preparing for the day or preparing for bed

Bathing or showering

Applying lotions and creams as required

Oral hygiene (brushing teeth, denture care etc.)

Applying make-up, help with hair styling

Support with shaving

Helping to the toilet

Assistance at mealtimes as required

Ensuring residents have the opportunity for social interaction with others, as per their wishes

Making sure that residents are well hydrated and taking necessary fluids
