About Us
Ashwood Court, one of the highest rated dementia nursing homes in the Sunderland area on carehome.co.uk, is a purpose built care home accommodating up to 30 residents in comfortable, homely en-suite rooms. The home is split across 3 wings; male only EMI, mixed EMI and younger adults with mental health conditions.
Our registered manager Helen, a 'Dementia Champion', has built an enthusiastic and passionate care team who pride themselves on providing high-quality, focussed care whilst encouraging independence, fun and laughter. Our recent CQC report recognised that "there was a welcoming atmosphere and lots of laughter in the home".
Here at Ashwood Court, we continually strive to maintain a family atmosphere within a warm, happy and safe environment. Family events such as tea parties and fundraisers are arranged throughout the year and visitors are always warmly received. Friends and family are more than welcome to join in with activities or sit and enjoy a meal with residents.
The home is located by going from Sunderland city centre, head out towards Hendon/Seaham on A4018. Go straight over roundabout for Raich Carter Sports Centre, then turn right at the next roundabout, and immediately right again at the next, onto Corporation Road. After 400m, turn right at the crossroads into Rosalie Terrace. As the road bends to the left past Villette Surgery, Ashwood is the next building on the RHS, on the corner with Tower Street. Turn into Tower Street and immediately right again for the car park.
